The Prime Minister's National Disaster Relief and Rehabilitation Fund has surpassed the sum of $600,000.

Commodore Bainimarama said a number of Chinese businessmen today got together and made a special donation towards the Fund to help the flood victims in the spirit of the beginning of the Chinese New Year.

He said the business houses have been very supportive making up most of the donations and he thanked everyone for helping out.

The funds collected will supplement the interim government's contribution under the National Disaster Relief and Rehabilitation Program.

The Fund is overseen by a team of Ministers as trustees with Commodore Bainimarama as the Chairman, Minister of Defence and the Minister for Provincial Development.
