Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama has welcomed the New Zealand government's decision to continue talks with Fiji and restore full diplomatic ties in the near future.

Bainimarama said it is definitely a welcome move for the New Zealand Foreign Minister Murray McCulley to come to Fiji and have talks with Foreign Minister Ratu Inoke Kubuabola.

The Prime Minister said the main issue now is for the new New Zealand diplomat to be appointed, to come and assist Fiji.
