PM visits damaged bridge
This was confirmed by the Provincial Administrator from Levuka, Pateresio Nunu.
Nunu added that the damaged bridge was mainly used by the girls who were boarders at Saint John’s College and was the main link of transport to town for the three villagers of Nawowo, Aravudi and Taviya.
Nunu confirmed that business was as usual for them two days after the bridge was damaged as the Public Works Department built a temporary access, which was used by the students and the villagers.
Commodore Bainimarama has also re-assured them this morning that the bridge will be fixed as soon as possible.
The Prime Minister is expected to also visit the villagers of Waitovu, Vuma, Tokou villages and some schools on his two day trip.
Also accompanying the Prime Minister on this trip to Levuka is Commissioner Eastern Colonel Iferemi Vasu and other government officials from Suva and Levuka.
