The Prime Minister, Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama is expected to launch 3G services in Labasa as he begins his Northern tour today.
He revealed this while launching the South Pacific Information and Communications Technology Expo 2011 last night at the Tanoa Plaza in Suva.
Commodore Bainimarama said the government recognizes the importance of ICT in Fiji.
The Prime Minister said Government has brought about a lot of changes including the liberalization of the telecommunication sector, offering consumers better value for their money and greatly improved services and accessibility as well as the introduction of new technology.
Meanwhile, the South Pacific Information and Communications Technology expo is expected to be held from 20th to 23rd July at the USP.
