The Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama will be announcing details on his new political movement at the beginning of next month.

While speaking to the people of Vunisea in Kadavu today, Commodore Bainimarama said that every Fijian over the age of 18 is entitled to vote to have their voices heard in the elections.

He also said old politicians want to re-empower the same people who brought Fiji to its knees.

He said they are yesterday's men and women.

Commodore Bainimarama reminded the people of Vunisea that the new Constitution also gives unprecedented protection for the ownership of iTaukei land.

He said that the election will be fought under the new Constitution, which declares every Fijian equal, provides them with the same opportunities and guarantees them a range of social and economic rights such as the right to education, health, adequate food and clean water.

Commodore Bainimarama reiterated that the general election will be held before the end of September.

Meanwhile Fiji Labour Party Leader, Mahendra Chaudhry said everyone knows what has happened in the past.

Chaudhry said while the Prime Minister is saying that the electoral system is now non race-based, the Labour party is calling for all the electoral processes to be undertaken now.

The National Federation Party is calling on the Prime Minister to name the people who he feels are living in the past and will not be able to take Fiji to the future.

President, Raman Pratap Singh said generalized comments do not have much value.

He said NFP is the oldest Party in the country but their leadership and thinking has been changing.

Singh added that they will have a good line up of people who will have the vision for the future.

We have sent questions to the Social Democratic Liberal Party.

They are yet to respond.
