While VAT increased on all goods and services from yesterday,
Educational items will be exempted till late February.
This was revealed by the Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama in his New Years address where he focused on education.
He says educational items such as exercise books, text books, and stationary will be zero rated from the 4th of January to the 28th of February and he has urged parents to take advantage of this period.
