PM receives overwhelming support from Island States
Ten Pacific Island countries have confirmed attendance for the meeting, and delegates are expected in the country beginning from today.
Foreign Affairs Minister Ratu Inoke Kubuabola said the leaders of
Papua New Guinea, Solomon, Kiribati, and Tuvalu will attend as well as seven other Island states.
Vanuatu has confirmed they will be attending and will be represented by either the Deputy Prime Minister or the Foreign Affairs Minister.
Meanwhile Speaking to Fijivillage, Secretary to the Solomon Island Prime Minister Jeremiah Manele said the Solomon Islands is happy to engage in any mission that will help Fiji out of its problems and pressures.
The "Engaging with the Pacific" meeting is for two days, from July 22 - 23rd.
During the meeting the Prime Minister, Commodore Bainimarama will brief the Island Leaders on the progress of Fiji's Roadmap for Democracy and Strategic Framework for Change.
