Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama said he is pleased with the meeting he had with Commonwealth Special Envoy Sir Paul Reeves and has confirmed they will continue to engage with the Commonwealth.
Bainimarama said the roadmap to democracy was explained in detail to Reeves and dialogue will now continue.
Bainimarama also told Fijivillage that explanations have been provided that electoral reforms are necessary and elections will be held in 2014.
Sir Paul Reeves had also shown his eagerness to assist in reviving the President's Political Dialogue Forum when he met members of the charter committee of the National Council for Building a Better Fiji (NCBBF) yesterday afternoon.
Committee member Reverend Akuila Yabaki said they were asked how the Commonwealth can assist Fiji at this stage and they have suggested that the best way forward is through the Political Dialogue Forum.
Reeves also stressed to the Charter committee that Fiji at this stage is suspended from the Commonwealth group and not expelled and assistance to help return to constitutional democracy will be forth coming.
The Commonwealth delegation is also scheduled to meet with the Fiji Employers Federation (FEF) and the Fiji Chamber of Commerce today before they leave early tomorrow morning.
