Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama is currently meeting with about 130 church ministers of the Methodist Church of Fiji at the Centenary Church in Suva.

Commodore Bainimarama is accompanied by Police Commissioner Commodore Esala Teleni, Navy Commander Francis Kean, Lt Colonel Ratu Tevita Uluilakeba Mara, Lt Colonel Sitiveni Qiliho and Lt Colonel Neumi Leweni.

Commodore Bainimarama had already stressed to Fijivillage in an earlier interview that the church will not be allowed to have their annual conference until 2014.

The Prime Minister said the main reason for this decision is because the church executives continue to be involved in politics.

Church Assistant General Secretary Reverend Tevita Nawadra said this would be the first time for the church ministers to meet with the Prime Minister.

He said this is the forum that they have been waiting for to raise their issues.
