Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama said Fiji is disappointed with what appears to be a decision of the United Nations to exclude Fiji from new peacekeeping missions.
While addressing the 64th session of the UN General Assembly in New York this morning, Bainimarama stated that they have not been given a clear explanation.
The prime minister reiterated his call to those nations who have turned their backs on Fiji to change their stance.
While laying out the government’s plans to return Fiji to democratic rule by September 2014, he called on the world leaders for patience and understanding.
