Prime Minister and Minister for the Public Service Commission Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama is directing all Ministries and Departments to re-introduce and strengthen their flexi-hours at lunch time to cater for customers and members of the public.

Bainimarama said the need for consideration to be given by the various Ministries to customers related services is high priority for Government.

Bainimarama said they need to priorities and be more responsive to the needs of members of the public as well as keeping in mind the need to delivering high quality services.

Referring to the success of the Government Information Referral Centre, Bainimarama said the Centre has been operating on flexi hours to cater for the queries by locals as well as tourists visiting our shores.

Permanent Secretary for PSC Parmesh Chand said GIRC is open nonstop from 8am to 4:30pm every day, it is now also open on Saturdays from 8am to 1pm, and extends to 2:30pm or 4pm if there is a Cruise Ship bringing in tourists to the city.
