Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama has called on everyone to reflect on the achievements of the past year as we move into 2015.

In his New Year message, Bainimarama highlighted that no Fijian can doubt the importance of 2014 in which people embarked on their new and true democracy, a year in which Fijians voted overwhelmingly for a new beginning.

He said people decisively turned their backs as a nation on the divisions of the past and opted instead for an inclusive future of hope and great promise.

He said the challenge now is to capitalize on the events of the past few months.

The Prime Minister also has a message for those who have been affected by water cuts.

He said the coming year will be about putting the proper structures in place to carry Fiji into the future.

Bainimarama said this includes proper structures in the economy to maintain the growth Fiji is now experiencing, the proper infrastructure to keep trade flowing and improve the export earnings, the proper restructuring of the civil service to make it more efficient and improve its ability to serve peoples needs.

The Prime Minister added that it is traditionally a time for resolutions and asked all Fijians to make some together as a nation.

He has asked people to resolve to remain united, to be patriotic, to love our nation and put its interests first.
