Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama has directed that immediate renovation works and assistance should be provided to Nairukuruku District School, Vunidawa District School and Vunidawa Sanatan Primary in Naitasiri.

After visiting the three schools while on his way to a military funeral, Commodore Bainimarama said general works need to be carried out as the conditions of the schools need critical consideration and government support.

Commodore Bainimarama said Vunidawa Sanatan and Vunidawa District schools both wanted two teacher’s quarters each and new classroom blocks.

The Prime Minister has confirmed to Fijivillage that these works will be carried out this term and will be done by contractors.

He said he was also overwhelmed with the determination by students to pursue their education despite the condition of their classroom.

Meanwhile, Commodore Bainimarama also visited Vunidawa Hospital.

He visited premature twins, Angel and Miracle who were born during the height of Cyclone Evan.

Their mother was airlifted to Suva during the cyclone.
