The Prices and Incomes Board has issued a stern warning to traders to comply with price control legislations, as statistics show that more than forty traders were fined by the court from June to August this year.

Statistics reveal that a total of 87 complaints were received by PIB on overcharging the price of price controlled items and 32 traders were fined by the court.

PIB said four traders were convicted for failing to mark prices, six were convicted for failing to display prices and eight were fined for rent charges.

PIB also said that traders who fail to do so could be liable for prosecution.
