With only two days of competition before the end of the Pacific Games in Samoa the athletics camp is under an injury cloud and could be forfeiting two crucial gold medals for Fiji.
Speaking to Village sports, athletics head-coach Albert Miller said that after Akesa Drotini's impressive performance in the 5000 meters, she is a doubtful starter in the 1500 meters finals today.
Miller adds that they are still keeping their fingers crossed that Jone Delai will be fit but Niko Verekauta or William McGoon may fill in.
Meanwhile Team Fiji remains in 5th place on the official medal tally but they now have 23 gold, 38 silver and 31 bronze.
New Caledonia is the outright winner at this stage with 67 gold, 54 silver and 47 bronze. Samoa lies in 2nd place with 32 gold, 26 silver and 36 bronze and Tahiti with 28 gold, 22 silver and 20 bronze is in third place.
