The Public Emergency Regulation will be extended for another 30 days.
This has been confirmed by Information Permanent Secretary and Military spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Neumi Leweni.
The Emergency Regulations was announced by the President three weeks ago and was due to expire on May 10th.
However Leweni said following a series of meetings they have decided to extend the PER which will now end on the 10th of June.
Meanwhile Lieutenant Colonel Leweni has today confirmed that Fijian soldiers will continue to serve with the United Nations.
He said as far as they are concerned, there has been no word on whether the UN has decided to pull out soldiers and police officers who continue to serve in different peace keeping areas around the world.
Lt Colonel Leweni adds they will only comment on the issue if and when the UN said otherwise.
