Oversees based players closely monitored
This has been confirmed by FRU High Performance Unit Manager, Talemo Waqa, who said that they have been watching video footage of their weekly games and are also following their fitness levels very closely.
Meanwhile, seven local-based players namely Setefano Somoca, Vesi Rarawa, Jimilai Naikadawa, Nemaia Kenatale, Seveci Taka, Taniela Rawaqa and Villiame Veikoso are in camp and are expected to be joined by New Zealand based Graham Dewes and Tuapati Talemaitoga over the weekend.
Waqa added that not only will these players go through various training programs, they are also there to finalise their visa papers.
Coach, Samu Domoni Jnr had earlier confirmed that only 14 players will assemble in Fiji before they will leave for France while the rest of the 16 Europe based players will join the team on the 7th of next month.
