An American boxing promoter is interested in staging a fight in Fiji this year.
This has been revealed by Boxing Commission of Fiji Director Malakai Veisamasama today.
Veisamasama said Chauncy Welliver is a promoter under the World Boxing Council and he is expected to meet with the boxing commission soon.
Meanwhile, the Fiji Sports Council is now an official boxing promoter as their application was approved by the boxing commission.
The Boxing Commission of Fiji have also opened an office in Nadi which will be managed by board member of Boxing Commission Usman Ali Lale.
