The Transport Ministry will bring in overseas consultants to review the country's maritime laws if the need arises.
Ministry spokesperson Sainiana Waqainabete said that the review is long overdue and under the review, they will be looking at the day-to-day running of FIMSA.
Waqainabete said that at the moment they are carrying out an internal review and overseas consultants may be brought in to oversee the overall review if the need arises.
This comes after the vessel Bawaqa ran aground off Viwa Island in the Yasawas earlier this month and the ministry is undertaking the review to ensure the safety of passengers.
