Seven overseas based players have been invited to trial for Fiji's National U 17 squad as it prepares for next year's OFC U 17 Championship.

Fiji U 17 coach, Hussain Sahib said each of the players is currently based in New Zealand or Australia but are all eligible to represent Fiji.

Fiji Football Association Youth director Rajesh Patel said his aim is to assemble the strongest possible side for the OFC championship.

Part of the Fiji squad came into camp at the Football Academy in Ba this week and Patel said the remainder of the squad, including the overseas based players, will join in the next few weeks.

The Under 17 OFC Championship will be held in January next year in Auckland.
