Over 9 000 people are in the 131 evacuation centres set up to assist those affected by the flood around the country.

Senior DISMAC officer Joji Satakala said that after their survey they have calculated 9529 evacuees in totality in the 131 centres.

In the Western Division, 77 evacuation centres have been set up with 6458 people in the centres as some areas continue to face strong winds. In the North: 10 evacuation centres with 675 people, In the Central Division: 44 evacuation centres 2396 evacuees.
