Over 840 Tabua confiscated from pawn shops
Assistant Police spokesperson Sergent Suliano Tevita confirmed the three pawn shops had breached the Endangered and Protected species act as they didn't have the license to sell the Tabua.
He adds the ministry is currently handing the matter, as the Tabua seized are in their custody.
Meanwhile, Tevita said they have laid charges against two men in relation to the robbery at Dee Cees office in Vatuwaqa earlier this week.
He said a 29 year old man of Lami and a 27 year old man of Narere have been charged with two counts of aggravated robbery under the New Crimes decree and are in custody to appear in the Suva Magistrate’s court on Monday.
Police also recovered some money from the two men.
Police are still hunting for three other people in relation to this case.
Also, Police are investigating an incident where a class one student of a Primary School in Nakasi received serious injuries to one of his eyes when a class 6 student threw a stick at him.
Tevita said the incident happened on Thursday with the student currently admitted at the CWM hospital.
