The Lautoka City Council is owed more than $4 million in overdue rates and this is having a direct effect of the council’s budget.
Town Clerk Pushp Raj said some ratepayers have not paid their rates for the last 10 years and some people also owe a huge amount of money to council in parking fines.
Raj said the council will now give discount to all those who will clear their rates.
