There is currently 4 million, 467 thousand 448 dollars in the Prime Minister's Rehabilitation Fund.

Interim Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama had earlier called on the public and business stakeholders to contribute to the fund to help flood affected victims with more expected to pour in.

The Fund has so far contributed $300,000 to Save The Children Fiji.

It is understood that once all assessments have been carried out on the help needed by those affected, Bainimarama himself will then decide where else this fund money will be used.

Meanwhile, a nationwide seed appeal has been launched by the Ministry of Youth Employment to help young farmers affected by the flood last month.

Media Liaison Officer, Vani Vulaca said that they started the appeal yesterday and have sent their officers out into the affected areas to look into what assistance can be provided to these farmers.
