The Police Drug Unit has raided a number of farms and uprooted more than 41,648 marijuana plants with a street value of more than 850 million dollars this year.

The Drug Unit has confirmed that the plants uprooted are from all centres of Fiji with majority of them being uprooted from the highlands of Navosa.

However, the Unit has not been able to reveal how many people have been charged and taken to court in relation to Marijuana cultivation.

According to police, this is the biggest amount of Marijuana plants uprooted in a single year in the history of the Fiji Police Force.
