With reports coming in from our team in Nadi, people are finally getting a true picture of the situation and are realizing the extent of the suffering of the people in the worst flood affected areas.
And this has seen an increase in the number of people coming forward to donate to the CFL appeal to Get the Children Back to school with over $40,000 collected so far from around the country.
Appeals Coodinator and Navtarang Programmes Director Satya Nand said the reports coming in have really impacted on people not affected by the floods.
The appeal organised by CFL radio stations, Legend FM and sister stations Navtarang, Sargam, FM96, Viti FM along with our website fijivillage.com is aimed at ensuring that funds are raised to help children go back to school when the new school term starts next Monday.
The CFL Radio Personalities are also based at various centers today, until Saturday evening.
All the cash donations collected for the children will be handed over to Save the Children Fund to assist the children with their school fees and daily bus fare and lunch.
For those who want to donate cash now to help the children go back to school, you can come here to the home of Fijivillage at 231 Waimanu Road, our Lautoka office at the Sugar Cane Growers Council building and our Labasa office located at 10 Rosawa Street.
