More than 40 children of Ra and Lautoka benefitted in a Digicel sponsored NRL clinic today.
The clinic focused on Rugby League basic skills like passing, running drills, kicking and tackling.
Digicel CEO Darren McLean says they are thrilled to partner with the NRL in developing the sport at grassroots level not only here in Fiji but across the Pacific.
He says this will provide opportunities to young children to develop the skills required to play the game and will offer them a pathway to chase their dreams of playing in professional NRL.
NRL Game Development Officer, Eta Vereivalu says National Rugby League Fiji is here to help promote the game of rugby league and develop young talented athletes across Fiji.
Vereivalu says they do not only want to focus on the main city areas, but also reach out to villages and smaller towns as such opportunities are rare.
She says currently they are holding school holiday clinics around Viti Levu‑ Ra, Lautoka, Nadi, Sigatoka, Suva and Nasinu.
The clinics continue in Nadi and Sigatoka tomorrow and on Thursday at Police Mobile ground in Suva.
