The Works, Transport and Energy Ministry is now working closely with the PSC to ensure the over 350 positions which will be left vacant today are filled so that there are no disruptions to the delivery of services.

Media Liaison Officer, Sainiana Waqainabete said training of junior officials within the Ministry has been an ongoing practice and with this unexpected directive for retirement from Government, they are confident they will be able to fill in for those who will be retiring.

Waqainabete however said they will try to ensure that those with specialised skills are retained on a contract basis.
