The Commissioner Westerns Office has spent over $30,000 so far to provide food rations to those who had to take refuge at the various evacuation centers over the last three days.
Commissioner Western Joeli Rokovada said they continue to provide food to those in need through the designated supermarkets, utilizing the funds allocated to National DISAMC.
Rokovada said there are still a number of people taking shelter at the evacuation centers.
Rokovada said his teams are now getting into areas which were inaccessible until yesterday and they are yet to get confirmed figures on the number of people who have been left homeless by the flash floods since last Thursday.
