Over $2.5 million in arrears is owed to the Nadi Town Council, with the Administration now looking at ways to recover the money owed.
Acting Rate Clerk Suresh Chand said one of the solutions they have come up with is to offer all defaulting rate payers a 30% amnesty period discount, if they pay up by the end of the year.
Chand added this is the first step they are taking, with the last resort being to take the matter to Court.
The deadline for the rate payers is 31st December.
