Officers from the Police Drug Unit uprooted marijuana plants with a street value of more than $2.3 million last night.
Assistant Spokesperson Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri said the raid was carried out on a farm located on the edge of Navosa and Wainimala and hundreds of matured marijuana plants were uprooted.
According to Sokomuri, they have also identified certain farmers who are also planting marijuana and raids will be carried out soon.
No one has been arrested in relation to the raid.
Meanwhile, a 42 year old man of Nadawa remains in custody in relation to a drug raid that was carried out yesterday.
During the raid more than $47,000 cash was confiscated from under his bed together with parcels of dried leaves.
Police believe the money was from the sale of marijuana during the Christmas weekend.
He was under surveillance for some months.
