Forty nine schools around the country will be getting over $1 million dollars to assist in their school operations.

Education Minister, Filipe Bole said this money has been set aside to assist in improving the performances of these schools and will see students getting textbooks, science equipment, computers and their school property undergoing facelifts.

Bole adds that this money has been allocated as teaching aids and there should be no excuse for poor marks from the chosen schools.

Looking at the Northern Division, 6 Schools will be getting $172, 000, $334,55 for 13 schools in the West, 6 schools in the East will get $180,000, 9 schools in the Nausori Area will get $217,500 while 15 schools in the Suva Education District will get $316,500.

Of the over $1.2 million, over $500,000 will be going to the building grant - this is to see the maintenance and upgrade of school buildings and laboratories. The rest will go towards Books and equipments.
