The major challenge faced by Consumer Council is the outdated legislations.
These are the words of Consumer Council of Fiji Chief Executive Officer Premila Kumar who said that when legislation is weak, it becomes meaningless to a consumer.
Kumar also said that under the legislation, some of the fines and penalties are not clearly defined.
