Ousted Prime Minister, Laisenia Qarase said he will now wait for Air Fiji to confirm if they can fly him over to Suva.

Following the statements by the military that it never gave a directive to Air Fiji to stop Qarase from boarding the Air Fiji flight to Suva, Qarase told Village News that he now has to know the airline company's decision before commenting on his trip to the capital city.

Qarase said he cannot say much on what military spokesperson, Lt Colonel Mosese Tikoitoga has said.

Lt Colonel Tikoitoga said he can confirm that no such directive was issued by any member of the RFMF.

Tikoitoga adds that it is childish of the Air Fiji CEO, Sialeni Vuetaki to accept a directive from an individual via a phone conversation and assume that it was the RFMF without checking with the proper authorities.

Vuetaki is yet to comment on the issue.
