The Fiji Taxi Union said there are other costs that have gone up in the taxi industry which some people forget to take into consideration before making calls for taxi fares to be reduced.

Unions General Secretary Rishi Ram said apart from fuel costs, taxi drivers are finding it hard to maintain the good standard of their taxis because the cost of taxi parts have gone up.

He added people are not looking at the bigger picture and just focusing on recent reduced fuel costs.
