Other avenues will be looked at with regards to major examinations if the members of the Fijian Teachers' Association do go on strike.
This is the view of Interim Education Minister, Netani Sukanaivalu who adds that if the teachers feel that it is their calling from a higher force to go on strike then they are welcome to do so.
Sukanaivalu added that the closure of schools will hopefully be the last option in the event of the impending strike.
The Fiji Eight Year Examinations are scheduled for the 15th and 16th of August.
The FTA and affiliates of the Fiji Islands Council of Trade Unions, the Public Employees Union and the Viti Taukei Workers Union plan to go on strike on the 2nd of August.
