Organizations Get EU Grant
Some of the organizations who received the grant under the Fiji Education Sector Program include the Fiji Council of Socials Services, Rotary Club, Alliance Francaise, Project Heaven, Friends, Ecrea, TISI Sangam and Fiji Red Cross Society.
The Head of the EU Delegation in the Pacific, Wiepke vander Goot said the EU has set aside $FJD6.6million for these programs in Fiji. He thanked the Grantees and hoped that the money given to them will improve the life of many people in the country.
Meanwhile, after getting the grant of $50,000, an executive of Project Heaven in Tamavua, Fani Volatabu said that she is very happy with the sum as the money will help them in conduct eye and hearing tests for school children.
She said they are currently going to all secondary schools around the country testing their eyesight and hearing and referring them to hospitals later.
