Almost 90 percent of 6 year olds have teeth problems.
This has been revealed by Health Ministry spokesperson Iliesa Tora as today marks the beginning of the Oral Health Campaign by the Health Ministry in trying to promote better oral hygiene across Fiji.
Tora said these need to be addressed.
Tora said he hopes members of the public take heed of warnings and become responsible for their own health, wellbeing and oral hygiene.
Colgate has also declared its support for the initiative by donating over 7,500 toothbrushes and General Manager Keith Shortall said such donations will encourage and assist our communities to maintain good oral hygiene.
Communities to benefit from the program include Lau, Lomaiviti, Kadavu, Rotuma and major urban centres.
