Fiji Secondary Schools Athletics Association is likely to face opposition for the No False Start Rule during the Coca Cola Games this weekend.
The new rule will be introduced this year, with any athlete that makes a false start in his or her race, will not be given a second chance.
Some of the Secondary Schools officials and coaches may oppose this idea at the Technical Meeting on Thursday at the TFL National Stadium.
Coca Cola Games chief organizer Vuli Waqa said they have to do it because it=s a international rule and athletes must be taught this rule from now on.
But Athletics Coach Albert Miller is one of the first to oppose the new rule, and said it should not be done at the Secondary Schools Athletics competition.
Miller said the Secondary Schools athletics meet is a breeding ground for athletes and they should not be disheartened with all these new rules.
The Fiji Secondary Schools Athletics technical meeting will be held on Thursday at the TFL National Stadium. The Coca Cola Games will start on Friday.
