The opposition to the draft People's Charter is clear from the respective "vanua" in the country according to Tui Cakau Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu.
Speaking outside Suva's Centenary church, Ratu Naiqama said members of the National Council for Building a Better Fiji (NCBBF) teams who are speaking to the people of the 14 provinces which make up the 3 confederacies will have to prepare themselves as the opposition to the draft Charter is clear.
Yesterday, Kubuna high chief Ratu Epenisa Cakobau, Roko Tui Dreketi Ro Teimumu Kepa and Tui Cakau Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu were present at Centenary church.
The three presented a “tabua” to the Methodist Church executives for supporting the rejection of the draft Charter.
They reiterated their stand not to support the draft People’s Charter as they believe that it will downgrade the Fijian administration and also the term Fijian should not be used for all citizens of the country.
