Those looking for a chance to earn a living through prawn farming can now rest assured there is a chance for you.

The Interim Agriculture Minister Joketani Cokanasiga had earlier said there is simply not enough to meet the demand especially in the tourism sector but adds the Ministry will help those interested set up the prawn farm.

Under the Ministry of Agriculture's Prawn Farming program all the farmer has to do is produce one third of the total cost needed to start farming.

Meanwhile, the Galoa Hatchery in Deuba caters for farmers who wish to go into Prawn farming which have been spawned and grown in Ba. The hatchery produces baby Pawnees which sell at $25 a kilogram .

The Fisheries Department will assist farmers in the planning process.

According to Joe Uluilakeba of the Ministry of Agriculture, the success of a prawn farm would depend on proper management and a clean water supply.
