The Minister for Tourism has applauded the opening of the new Tropic of Capricorn Resort in Wailoaloa Nadi, saying this allows for affordable accommodation in Nadi.

Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said that resort which is situated near the Nadi International Airport plays a very pivotal role in the Tourism sector.

Speaking at the opening of the resort yesterday, Sayed-Khaiyum said that this will allow more options for tourists visiting Fiji as it is situated near the Airport and also is at the center of market where tourists will be able to stay at affordable prices as well as take advantage of a new 24 hour shopping center.

Sayed-Khaiyum said that this is a classic example of harnessing available resources for development and such initiatives will always be welcomed by government.

He also said that the opening of the resort will also mean a boost for the local economy where the local farmers will find a market for their vegetables.
