More than 50 elders from the Ono-i-Lau tikina are currently discussing their future ties with the Lau province in a meeting in Laqere this afternoon.

When Fijivillage visited the place this afternoon, the elders who were present confirmed that a few important decisions will be reached tonight after the meeting.

They are currently looking at what option they will take after their rep Anare Jale was not allowed into the Lau Provincial Council meeting on Thursday.

While they have called for them to sever their ties with the Lau province on Thursday night, the elders have also raised their concerned on some other faction who went up to the Queen Elizabeth Barracks to present their apology to Ratu Tevita Uluilakeba Mara.

The next step of action that the tikina of Ono-i-Lau will take will be made known to their people after tonight’s meeting.
