Fiji Amateur Swimming Association will field only four swimmers in this year's Pacific Games.

Association president Dennis Miller said Rachel Ah Koy, Caroline Pickering, Calum Liew and Sean Chow were the only one's to qualify.

Miller said the swimming competition has been very tough and that is the reason why many other top swimmers in Fiji were not able to meet the qualifying times.

He said one of the medal prospects, Carl Probert had to withdraw in the last minute because of work commitments.

In Pacific Games swimming competition 40 gold medals will be at stake.
