“Everyone wants us to win gold but we will have to play our best game first.”
Those were the words of Vodafone Fiji 7s coach Ben Ryan who has already picked 10 players to head to Rio and only has two spots left in the team.
Ryan says that three players are currently fighting for a spot in the forwards and three fighting for a spot in the backline.
When asked about the excitement of the people, Ryan says he is even excited himself.
Ryan adds that some good body fat percentages are coming in this week. 90% of the squad are under 8% body fat and the lowest is around 6.19%.
He was also impressed with his big boys as Leone Nakarawa who is currently weighing in at 119kg has only 9% body fat.
Meanwhile Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama will be announcing the Vodafone Fiji 7s team this Saturday.
Fiji will take on Brazil in their first game at 4.30am on August 10th, they will then face Argentina at 9.30am before taking on USA at 4.30am on August 11th.
