It is highly likely that there will only be two overseas teams in this year’s Fiji Bitter Marist 7s.

Marist Rugby Club President Lawrence Tikaram said New Caledonia and Wellington are the only overseas teams that have confirmed their participation.

A total of 80 teams have already registered and Tikaram said some of them had to be withdrawn as they only need 64 teams for the tournament.

Tikaram added they are also looking at releasing the pool schedule as early as next week.

Meanwhile, the Fiji Bitter Marist 7s will be held on the 7th and 8th of next month.

The 64 teams will battle it out for the $10,000 prize money.
