Deryck Thomas is the only overseas based player named to don the Fiji jersey in the IRB Pacific Rugby Cup competition.

Thomas who plays for the Yamaha club in Japan has been named in the reserves in the Fiji Warriors team which will be coached by the winning Colonial Cup Crusaders team coach - Iliesa Tanivula.

Thomas played for the Highlanders franchise in last year's Colonial Cup and also represented Fiji at the World Cup in France.

The Warriors team includes some big names like Stallions captain Apisai Turukawa, Crusaders captain Aporosa Vata, FMF Flying Fijians World Cup fly-half Waisea Luveniyali, Aca Ratuva and Knights fullback Iliesa Keresoni.

The Fiji Warriors will play their first game against Tautahi Gold at Churchill Park at 7pm next Friday.
