Three cases have been reported in the first quarter of this year dealing with young women allegedly raped by two witch doctors and a priest.

Police spokesperson Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri said the first case was in relation to a 22-year-old woman who was taken to a witch doctor by her relatives.

The second case is in relation to a woman in her early 20s who was taken to a priest in Narere while the latest case is in relation to another woman in her 20s taken to a witch doctor in Cunningham.

In all these cases, the family members took the young women to either the witch doctor or the priest, after they were sick for some time.

The families were promised that the young women would be healed if they were left with these men for two to three days.

The families discovered that the women were allegedly raped when they went to pick them up.

Sokomuri said a witch doctor and a priest have already been charged with rape while investigations continue in relation to the latest case in Cunningham.
