The Rugby World Cup is proving a box‑office success as its millionth fan will attend the Wales vs Fiji game.

The 20 pool matches played so far have been watched by 982,924 people with the grounds filled to an average of 92 per cent of their capacity

Wales will be greeted by a wall of noise and the millionth fan to watch the Rugby World Cup at the Millennium Stadium on Thursday.

Wembley Stadium has so far been leading the way.

It has been 99% full and hosted an average of 89,143 fans for its two matches, both of which broke the attendance record for a Rugby World Cup match.

Wembley first set the milestone on September 21st when 89,019 people piled in to watch New Zealand beat Argentina.

That record was broken again just seven days later when 89,267 went to watch Ireland beat Romania.

Host nation England have been the biggest crowd puller so far with an average of 80,572 people attending their games, Ireland is next with an average of 78,895 fans going to their games, Wales are third with 76,508 followed by Fiji with 73,634 and New Zealand with 70,420.
