One Fiji team in for Fiji Bitter Marist 7s
The final 12 players from the 18 who are currently in camp will be named by head coach Alifereti Dere with the rest of the 6 players joining their respective clubs for the Marist Sevens.
This is to give the players a chance to impress the selectors with the selection door still open for the final team to Hong Kong and Japan.
With Emosi Vucago opting out of the team, his spot is likely to be contested between Nikola Matawalu and Joji Ragamate, who are in the current squad while Police halfback Apenisa Dralia is also in the running.
For Nemani Nagusa, his position in the team will either go to Jimilai Nakaidawa or Apisai Nayabo while Manu Laqai and former Sevens rep Sitiveni Waqa have shown they have what it takes in last weekend’s win in Nausori.
64 teams will play in the Fiji Bitter Marist Sevens next Friday at the TFL Stadium where the announcement of the squad to the Hong Kong Sevens will take place after the final.
